This "Transitional" contemporary kitchen was part of a major remodel that included vaulting the ceiling. A structural column was placed to carry a support beam for the wall cabinets. Both were wrapped with cabinetry materials. The tall base cabinet at the end of the peninsula contains a microwave drawer unit at a convenient height. The solid maple doors are gently curved to give a softness and warmth to this kitchen.
